What we stock

Pipes, fittings and tanks

Bring your plumber's list and we will check the sizes and quantities with you before you buy.

  • CPVC Pipes & Fittings

Hot and cold water supply lines rated for continuous use around 93°C.

The correct material for every line carrying hot water. Joined with solvent cement, which chemically fuses the pipe rather than gluing it — cut square, clean both faces and respect the cure time.

    • SDR 11
    • ½″ · ¾″ · 1″
    • Hot & cold
  • UPVC Pipes & Fittings

Cold water supply, borewell lines and tank connections.

Rigid, corrosion-proof and cheaper than CPVC — but it softens above roughly 60°C, so it must never carry hot water. Using UPVC on a geyser line is the most common and most expensive plumbing mistake.

    • Cold water only
  • PVC Drainage & Waste

Soil, waste and vent lines for bathrooms and kitchens.

110 mm for the WC soil line, 75 mm for floor traps and basin waste. What actually decides whether drainage works is the fall — aim for roughly a 1:40 to 1:60 gradient on horizontal runs.

    • 110 mm soil
    • 75 mm waste
  • Water Storage Tanks

Overhead, loft and underground tanks in multi-layer construction, from 500 L upward.

Plan at roughly 135–150 litres per person per day, so a family of four typically needs 500–1,000 L overhead, with more in an underground sump where supply is intermittent. Multi-layer tanks resist algae and heat better.

    • 500 L – 5,000 L
    • Overhead · Loft · Underground
  • Valves

Zoloto ball, gate and non-return valves to isolate and control water lines.

Fit an isolation valve on the main inlet, at the tank outlet and on each bathroom branch, so one leak never means shutting off the whole house. A non-return valve after a pump stops the line draining back each time it switches off.

    • Ball valves
    • Gate valves
    • Non-return
    • Zoloto

Understanding the category

Specifying a plumbing system

Which pipe goes where

CPVC for hot and cold water supply — rated for continuous use around 93°C. UPVC for cold water supply only. PVC for drainage, waste and vent lines, which are gravity-fed and carry no pressure.

Using UPVC on a geyser line is the most common and most expensive plumbing mistake, because the failure is a slow weep behind finished tiling.

Sizing a residential system

½ inch for individual fixture connections — basin, WC, health faucet. ¾ inch for branch lines feeding a bathroom and for most geyser connections.

1 inch for the main down-take from the overhead tank. Undersizing the down-take is a common cause of disappointing flow on upper floors.

Getting solvent-cement joints right

Most CPVC failures are installation failures. Cut square with a pipe cutter, deburr inside and out, apply cement to both surfaces, insert with a quarter turn and hold for 30 seconds.

Then wait before pressure testing — cure time depends on ambient temperature and pipe size. In Udaipur’s summer heat curing is fast; in winter it needs longer than people assume. CPVC and PVC cements are not interchangeable.

UV exposure on terrace runs

Most Udaipur homes feed from an overhead tank, so a length of pipe sits on the terrace in full sun. Sustained Rajasthan UV makes CPVC brittle over years.

Paint exposed runs with a light-coloured acrylic paint, lag them, or route them inside a duct. Cheap at installation, annoying to retrofit.

Sizing water storage

A common planning figure is 135–150 litres per person per day, so a family of four typically needs 500–1,000 litres of overhead storage.

Where municipal supply is intermittent, add underground sump capacity on top of that rather than oversizing the overhead tank, which loads the roof slab.

Drainage falls

What actually determines whether drainage works is not the pipe but the fall. Aim for roughly a 1:40 to 1:60 gradient on horizontal runs.

Too flat and solids settle; too steep and water outruns the solids, which blocks just as effectively.

Buying advice

Specifying a plumbing system

What actually matters when you are choosing — the questions worth settling before you buy.

CPVC, UPVC or PVC — which goes where?

CPVC for hot and cold supply lines. UPVC for cold supply only — it softens above roughly 60°C. PVC for drainage, waste and vents. Using UPVC on a geyser line is the most common and most expensive mistake.

What tank size does a family need?

A common planning figure is around 135–150 litres per person per day, so a family of four typically needs 500–1,000 litres of overhead storage, with more held in an underground sump where supply is intermittent.

Do pipes need protection from the sun here?

Yes. Sustained Rajasthan UV makes exposed CPVC brittle over years, and most Udaipur homes have terrace runs from an overhead tank. Paint exposed pipe with light-coloured acrylic paint, lag it, or route it in a duct.

Buying in Udaipur

Udaipur homes are almost universally fed from an overhead tank rather than a pressurised mains, which changes two things: do not undersize the down-take line, and check the minimum pressure requirement before buying a rain shower or thermostatic diverter. Terrace runs also take intense year-round UV, so exposed pipework should be painted or ducted.

FAQs

Common questions

What customers ask most often about pipes & water tanks in udaipur — sizing, fitting, warranty and what to decide first.

Where can I buy Zoloto valves in Udaipur?

Jain Ceramic Mart at B-Block, 291, Main Road, Sector-14, Hiran Magri, Gordhan Vilas Rural, Udaipur, Rajasthan 313001 stocks Zoloto ball, gate and non-return valves for isolating and controlling water lines, alongside the Astral and Ashirvad pipes and fittings they connect to.

Where can I buy Astral CPVC pipes in Udaipur?

Jain Ceramic Mart at B-Block, 291, Main Road, Sector-14, Hiran Magri, Gordhan Vilas Rural, Udaipur, Rajasthan 313001 is an authorised Astral Pipes dealer in Udaipur, stocking CPVC, UPVC and PVC systems with matching fittings and solvent cements, along with Ashirvad piping.

What is the difference between CPVC and UPVC pipes?

CPVC contains additional chlorine in its molecular structure, letting it carry water continuously at around 93°C, so it is used for hot and cold supply lines. UPVC softens above roughly 60°C and is therefore suitable only for cold water supply.

What size water tank do I need for a family of four?

Planning at roughly 135 to 150 litres per person per day, a family of four generally needs 500 to 1,000 litres of overhead storage. Where municipal supply is intermittent, additional underground sump capacity is usually added on top of that.

Why do CPVC joints leak?

Almost always because of installation rather than the material. The most common causes are an angled cut reducing the bonding surface, cement applied to only one surface, insufficient cure time before pressure testing, or using PVC cement on CPVC pipe. Following the manufacturer's cure-time table is essential.

Do you stock Sintex water tanks in Udaipur?

Yes. Jain Ceramic Mart stocks Sintex overhead, loft and underground water storage tanks in a range of capacities from around 500 litres upwards, at the Hiran Magri, Sector 14 showroom.
