What we stock

Fittings we stock

The parts you touch every day. Where a specification genuinely changes how long a fitting lasts, it is called out.

  • Basin Mixers

Single-lever mixers that blend hot and cold from one handle — the most-used fitting in any bathroom.

Worth spending on, because it is operated many times a day. The ceramic disc cartridge decides whether it stays drip-free for a decade; ask whether a replacement cartridge is available locally.

    • Single lever
    • Ceramic cartridge

    Typically ₹2,500 – ₹15,000

  • Pillar Taps & Quarter-Turn

Single-inlet taps opening in a 90° turn, with separate hot and cold controls.

Mechanically simpler and cheaper to service than a single-lever mixer. A sensible choice for secondary bathrooms, utility areas and service points.

    • Quarter turn
    • Economical

    Typically ₹1,200 – ₹6,000

  • Diverters

2-way, 3-way, concealed and thermostatic diverters that route water between outlets.

A concealed diverter looks cleanest but its body sits inside the wall — insist on front-serviceable. A thermostatic diverter holds temperature best but often needs more pressure than an overhead tank provides.

    • Concealed
    • Thermostatic
    • Decide pre-tiling

    Typically ₹3,500 – ₹28,000

  • Overhead Showers

Fixed shower heads from compact roses to large rain showers, in several spray patterns.

Check the minimum working pressure before buying: large rain showers commonly need around 1–1.5 bar, while a rooftop tank delivers roughly 0.1 bar per metre of height. Silicone nozzles are far easier to descale in hard water.

    • Rain shower
    • Check pressure
    • Silicone nozzles

    Typically ₹1,500 – ₹18,000

  • Hand Showers & Shower Sets

Handheld showers with flexible hose and wall hook, usually paired with a diverter.

The most practical outlet in an Indian bathroom — used for rinsing, cleaning and bathing children. Multi-function heads are useful; a serviceable spray face is more so.

    • Multi-function
    • Wall hook

    Typically ₹1,200 – ₹8,000

  • Health Faucets

Handheld bidet sprays with hose and holder.

Heavily used and easily damaged, so buy a serviceable one rather than the cheapest. A quality trigger mechanism and a reinforced hose are what separate a two-year life from a ten-year one.

    • Reinforced hose

    Typically ₹700 – ₹3,500

  • Angle Valves & Stop Cocks

Isolation valves at each fixture, plus concealed stop cocks and flush valves.

Never economise here. An angle valve is inexpensive, but when a cheap one fails it does so inside a finished wall or under a counter. Solid brass bodies only.

    • Brass body
    • Isolation

    Typically ₹400 – ₹2,500

  • Kitchen Sink Taps

Sink mixers, swivel-spout taps and pull-out sprays for the kitchen.

A high swivel spout makes filling large vessels practical. If a water purifier shares the sink, plan the extra tap hole before the counter is cut.

    • Swivel spout
    • Pull-out spray

    Typically ₹1,800 – ₹14,000

Understanding the category

What separates a cheap tap from a good one

The cartridge decides everything

Inside every modern tap are two polished ceramic discs. Rotating the handle slides one across the other to open, mix and close the flow. That cartridge is the part that wears out — not the body, not the finish.

A quality cartridge uses hard, precisely lapped discs that stay sealed for years. A cheap one uses softer discs that grit and scale can score, and once scored, the tap drips. Ask whether a replacement cartridge is available locally: on branded fittings it costs a fraction of a new tap.

Weight tells you about the body

Pick two taps up. The heavier one almost always has more brass and a thicker wall. Cheap fittings are sometimes not brass at all, but zinc alloy with a plated finish — light in the hand and brittle in service.

The failure worth knowing about is dezincification: in certain water conditions the zinc leaches out of brass over years, leaving a porous structure that eventually weeps. Better fittings use dezincification-resistant brass.

How to judge chrome plating

“CP” means chrome-plated, but the chrome layer itself is microscopically thin. What protects the fitting is the layering underneath — copper for levelling, nickel for corrosion resistance, then chrome for hardness.

A good finish is a bright neutral mirror. A bluish or dull cast suggests thin plating. Look along the surface at a shallow angle for orange-peel texture or pitting, and check the underside, where cheap fittings are finished worst.

Check pressure before buying a rain shower

This is the most common disappointment we see. Large rain showers and body jets typically need around 1–1.5 bar. An overhead tank delivers roughly 0.1 bar per metre of height, so a tank four metres up gives about 0.4 bar.

Either choose fittings rated for low pressure, or budget for a pressure pump as part of the job — decided before the plumbing is closed up, not after.

Aerators and hard water

The aerator is the mesh insert at the spout. In much of Udaipur it will need periodic cleaning, so the question that matters is whether it can be unscrewed and descaled.

Better fittings use a standard removable cartridge aerator; some use a soft silicone face you rub clean with a thumb. A sealed or proprietary aerator becomes a permanent low-flow annoyance.

A note on matte and gold finishes

Matte black, brushed gold and rose gold photograph beautifully. Two practical cautions in hard water: mineral deposits show far more conspicuously on matte and dark finishes than on chrome.

And if a part needs replacing in five years, matching a speciality finish across brands is much harder than matching chrome. If you want the look, plan to wipe fittings dry after use.

Buying advice

Getting fittings right

What actually matters when you are choosing — the questions worth settling before you buy.

What makes an expensive tap worth it?

Three things: the ceramic disc cartridge, which decides whether it drips in two years or ten; the cast brass body, which resists dezincification; and multi-layer nickel-chrome plating, which survives hard water without pitting. Styling is the part you pay for that does not affect longevity.

Will a rain shower work on my tank pressure?

Often not. Large rain showers commonly need around 1–1.5 bar, while an overhead tank gives roughly 0.1 bar per metre of height — so a tank four metres up delivers about 0.4 bar. Check the minimum pressure rating first, or budget for a pressure pump.

Are matte black and gold finishes practical here?

They look excellent, but hard-water deposits show much more on matte and dark finishes than on chrome, and matching a speciality finish years later is harder. If you want the look, plan to wipe fittings dry after use.

Buying in Udaipur

Because groundwater across much of Udaipur is hard, cartridge quality, plating depth and a serviceable aerator matter more here than in soft-water cities. Those three things — not the styling — are what decide whether a fitting still works well in ten years.

FAQs

Common questions

What customers ask most often about bathroom & cp fittings in udaipur — sizing, fitting, warranty and what to decide first.

Where can I buy Jaquar bathroom fittings in Udaipur?

Jain Ceramic Mart at B-Block, 291, Main Road, Sector-14, Hiran Magri, Gordhan Vilas Rural, Udaipur, Rajasthan 313001 is an authorised Jaquar and Essco dealer in Udaipur, stocking basin mixers, taps, diverters, showers and health faucets. Products bought from an authorised dealer carry genuine manufacturer warranty.

What is the difference between Jaquar and Essco?

Both are Jaquar Group brands. Jaquar is the premium range with wider design choice and higher-specification cartridges, while Essco is the value range built to the same group standards. Many homes use Jaquar in the main bathroom and Essco in secondary bathrooms.

Why has my tap started dripping?

A dripping tap almost always means the ceramic disc cartridge has worn or been scored by grit and scale. On most branded fittings the cartridge is a replaceable spare costing a fraction of a new tap, so the fitting itself rarely needs replacing.

How do I clean a blocked aerator?

Unscrew the aerator from the spout, soak it in diluted white vinegar for a few hours to dissolve the calcium scale, brush it gently and refit. In hard-water areas of Udaipur this may be needed every few months, which is why fittings with removable aerators are worth choosing.

Which diverter should I choose for my shower?

An exposed 2-way or 3-way diverter is simplest and easiest to service. A concealed diverter looks cleaner but its body is set into the wall, so choose a model whose cartridge can be serviced from the front. A thermostatic diverter holds temperature best but usually needs higher water pressure than a gravity tank provides.
