What we stock

Cement, adhesives and chemicals

Supplied to homeowners, contractors and builders across Udaipur, in project quantities where needed.

  • Cement (OPC & PPC)

UltraTech, Wonder and JK Lakshmi Cement for structural concrete, masonry and plaster.

OPC gains strength faster and suits structural work on tight schedules; PPC contains fly ash, gains strength more gradually and offers better workability and long-term durability. Most houses use both, in different places.

    • OPC
    • PPC
  • Tile Adhesives

Cement-based adhesives in classes matched to tile size and substrate.

Essential for vitrified and large-format tiles: their low porosity means a traditional mortar bed cannot bond reliably. Hollow-sounding tiles are the sign this step was skipped.

    • Vitrified
    • Large format
  • Grouts & Joint Fillers

Cementitious and epoxy grouts, including stain-resistant options for wet areas.

Epoxy grout costs more and is harder to apply, but it does not absorb water or stain — worth it in showers, kitchens and anywhere the joint colour matters over time.

    • Epoxy
    • Cementitious
  • Waterproofing Compounds

Astral Trubuild waterproofing for bathroom sunken slabs, terraces and wet areas — the full range is on our waterproofing page.

Most bathroom leaks begin at the floor-to-wall coving and around pipe penetrations. Carry membrane at least 150 mm up the wall and insist on a 24–48 hour flood test before tiling starts.

Understanding the category

Specifying materials correctly

OPC or PPC cement?

OPC (Ordinary Portland Cement) gains strength quickly and suits structural work on tight schedules — columns, beams, slabs where formwork needs stripping early.

PPC (Portland Pozzolana Cement) is blended with fly ash. It gains strength more gradually but offers better workability, lower heat of hydration and good long-term durability — well suited to masonry and plaster. Most houses use both, in different places.

Why tile adhesive matters so much

Vitrified tiles absorb under 0.5% water, so a traditional mortar bed has almost nothing to grip. The tile sits on the bed rather than bonding to it.

Use a cement-based adhesive of the correct class for the tile size and substrate. Hollow-sounding tiles are the sign this was skipped, and the eventual repair means relaying the floor.

Where waterproofing actually fails

Most bathroom leaks begin in two places: the coving where floor meets wall, and around pipe penetrations through the slab. Both are cheap to treat properly during construction.

Carry membrane at least 150 mm up the wall, cove every junction, and insist on a 24–48 hour flood test before any tiling begins. Fill the sunken area, mark the level, check the next day.

Cementitious or epoxy grout?

Cementitious grout is standard, economical and easy to apply, but it is porous — it absorbs water and stains over time.

Epoxy grout costs more and demands more care during application, but it does not absorb water or discolour. In showers and kitchens it is usually worth the difference.

Storing cement on site

Cement is hygroscopic — it absorbs moisture from the air and begins to hydrate, losing strength before it is ever mixed.

Store bags off the floor on a raised platform, away from external walls, and use older stock first. A bag that has gone lumpy has already lost strength and should not go into structural work.

Estimating quantities

Tile adhesive coverage depends on tile size and notch trowel: larger tiles need a deeper notch and therefore more adhesive per square foot.

Bring your tile size and total area and we will work the quantity through with you, rather than guessing and either running short mid-job or over-ordering.

Buying advice

Specifying materials

What actually matters when you are choosing — the questions worth settling before you buy.

OPC or PPC — which cement should I use?

OPC gains strength faster and suits structural work with tight schedules. PPC contains fly ash, gains strength more gradually, and offers better long-term durability and workability for masonry and plaster. Most house construction uses both, in different places.

Why does tile adhesive matter so much?

Vitrified tiles absorb under 0.5% water, so a traditional mortar bed has almost nothing to grip. Use a cement-based adhesive of the correct class for the tile size and substrate — hollow-sounding tiles are the sign this was skipped.

Where should waterproofing be prioritised?

At the floor-to-wall coving and around every pipe penetration — where most bathroom leaks begin. Carry membrane at least 150 mm up the wall and insist on a 24–48 hour flood test before tiling starts.

Buying in Udaipur

FAQs

Common questions

What customers ask most often about cement & building materials in udaipur — sizing, fitting, warranty and what to decide first.

Where can I buy cement in Udaipur?

Jain Stone & Marble at B-Block, 291, Main Road, Sector-14, Hiran Magri, Gordhan Vilas Rural, Udaipur, Rajasthan 313001 supplies UltraTech Cement, Wonder Cement and JK Lakshmi Cement in Udaipur, along with Astral tile adhesives, grouts and construction chemicals, to homeowners, contractors and builders.

Is Wonder Cement made in Rajasthan?

Yes. Wonder Cement Limited is headquartered in Udaipur, Rajasthan, with its manufacturing plant at Nimbahera in Chittorgarh district, roughly 100 kilometres from the city.

What is the difference between OPC and PPC cement?

OPC is Ordinary Portland Cement, which gains strength quickly and suits structural work on tight schedules. PPC is Portland Pozzolana Cement blended with fly ash, which gains strength more gradually but offers better workability, lower heat of hydration and good long-term durability for masonry and plaster.

Can I use ordinary cement mortar to fix vitrified tiles?

No. Vitrified tiles have water absorption below 0.5%, so a traditional cement mortar bed cannot form a reliable bond with them. Use a cement-based tile adhesive of the class appropriate to the tile size and substrate, otherwise tiles will sound hollow and eventually crack or lift.

Do you supply materials to contractors in bulk?

Yes. Jain Stone & Marble supplies cement, adhesives and construction chemicals in project quantities to builders and contractors across Udaipur, and quotes on bulk requirements.
